___ DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS


Already, i hear Christmas songs being played on the radio. I could see the decorations being cleaned in preparation for the coming months. The air too seems to be a bit (only a bit!) cooler than the past weeks. Yes, Christmas is coming. I could feel the expectancy, the desire for better tidings amidst all the political turmoil in the country. Christmas is MY favorite time of the year. Yes, Christmas. Family gatherings, festive decors, photographs (my favorite!), noche buena and leche flan, presents (another favorite!) and endless conversations with the family. Christmas is great. But this Christmas won't be. This Christmas will be less festive, less fun, less meaningful. It will be a bit sadder, a bit lonelier and a bit tearful. My heart will be somewhere else this Christmas. It will be with my love. Always. My heart and Christmas will be with my sweetie forever. After saying this, i could very well say that NEXT Christmas will be the Christmas I'll belooking forward to. Next Christmas will be very special. Extra special. But that tale will have to be told next year.
