It was drizzling this morning so I had to bring in the clothes I washed yesterday. The air was so cold! By the time I got all the clothes off the line, my hands were numb. Also, due to limited space here in the apartment, I had to improvise where to hang the almost-dry-but-just-a-bit-damp clothes. I decided to make use of some hooks and now, our apartment looks like there's a clothes sale happening. But oh well, who cares anyway? We're not expecting any visitors and the clothes will hopefully be dry by afternoon. By then, our apartment will be restored to its usual chaotic look minus the laundry.

I'm becoming quite addicted to the new game Ruther and I have been playing on his Nintendo DS Lite. It's Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. I love crime shows (CSI, Crime Night on Discovery Channel), forensic shows and mystery books so why wouldn't I love this game? It's really addictive. Unfortunately, he brought the DS with him to work today so I can't play the game the whole day. But tonight, I'm going to do a new episode. Can't wait!

I now know what "friend" is in Nihongo. It's tomodachi. Strangely, in my basic Nihongo books, this word is rarely mentioned. I had to look this up on the internet. That to me, is very strange because I think "friend" is as important as "dad" or "mom" or "boss". Don't you think it's nice to say, "It would be nice to be your friend" rather than "It's nice to make your acquaintance"?

Ruther will be flying to Manila on the 25th (Thursday). He has a 3-day leadership seminar at a resort in Laguna with his company back home and he'll be in the Philippines until the 29th (Monday). His flight back to Japan is on the morning of the 29th so we'll be seeing him before the day is over. At first, he didn't know how to tell me this news because he knows I'll be sad when he goes home and although that's true and although he knows I'll miss him, I also know that he'll want to come back to us and miss us as well. He promises to bring back our favorite food and although that would be a delight, I would prefer him to all those pasalubongs. I am sure his family will be glad to see him. They haven't seen him for more than a year. Hopefully, they will be able to have dinner together and bond before he returns. But during those days he won't be with us, I'll surely miss him a lot... =.(
