Eiwa Industry in Aichi, working with a researcher at Nagoya University's medical school, is prepared to provide anyone interested with a locket embedded with the DNA of a loved one who has passed away. Price: Y50,000, which includes the cost of extracting the DNA from the dearly beloved.

Casio's got a wristwatch that resets itself every night by checking broadcast time signals. The company has another watch that tells the time in 48 cities around the world, in case you get lost. And in case you think you might really get lost, it has a watch with a built-in compass, barometer and altimeter.

Three-kilogram gold dumbbells went on sale in Tokyo and Osaka for Y7.59 million each. You will need two, of course.

A man stopped his car in front of the Diet and all but cut his left hand off with a machete. He told police he did it to protest the government's North Korean policy. Noted.
