I had my hair cut this morning. I know I said I wanted to keep my hair long but I was no longer happy with how the ends of my hair looked. They were brown, had some split-ends and looked yucky. So, when mommy mentioned that she was going to the hair salon today, I told her I was coming along. I asked the woman to trim around 2 inches of hair and shape it into a U. It looks all right. It's better this way: my head does not feel too heavy, my hair is no longer damaged and I could save a lot on shampoo. =D

I am halfway through the book I am reading right now: The Second Time Around by Mary Higgins Clark. It's a mystery novel and it's all right. I have read many titles by MHC and enjoyed them so much. Mommy has quite a collection here at home so I simply borrow one from our mini-library.

I practiced my old piano piece this afternoon, Spinning Song by Albert Ellmenreich. I think this was my recital piece when I was 13 years old. I used to love this piece because it's very upbeat (allegretto) and is mostly played in a staccato fashion. It took me a few practices to "memorize" this piece again but I'm getting the hang of it. As I was practicing, I realized, sometimes, my fingers just know where to go. I suppose I have to trust "instinct" sometimes.
I also practiced Somewhere In Time. This piece I can never seem to forget. For that, I am glad. =D

After lunch today, my cousins and I had a game of badminton. It was so hot at the court it felt like we were in a sauna. After 1 game, my shirt was soaked. But we had fun and continued to play on. This is a rare event when all my cousins and I get together because sometimes, our schedules don't meet. But when it does, it's such a great opportunity to bond and just have fun. =D

Hi Yette! I love reading your blog - sometimes I feel like we are long lost twins, because we really have alot in common. :o) I just had to laugh that you just cut your hair and have been trying to figure out what to do with it, because I have been doing the same (I've almost decided). I also love sitting down and playing old piano recital pieces! It's so fun. I hope you are doing well and enjoying being closer to family in the Philippines. :o)
