When we were growing up, my parents never placed a tv in our rooms. I suppose this was a good thing because 1. we just chose some books from our library to read when we were bored, 2. we would watch tv in my parent's room and bond, and 3. we could focus on studying without distractions. When I was in college, I could go all day without tv. A book and a radio was all I needed. I never minded that I missed shows or was not up-to-date with the seasons or episodes of shows. I just took it all in stride. I want Nikki and Ethan to love to read. In an old post about books, I mentioned about my love for reading and how much I would want to have a library in my future home.
Reading has taught me so much. Not only has it improved my English a lot but it has also made me imaginative, creative and more appreciative of different reading materials. Already, I am so pleased when I see Nikki and Ethan reading the Dr. Seuss books my siblings and I used to own. I think it's great that another generation is making use of the books that I enjoyed so much in my childhood. Hopefully, when Nikki and Ethan grow up, they will be appreciative of this as well.

I love books..too bad some of the one's that were borrowed by friends were never returned..
My hubby and I decided that we will have a mini library when we do build our dream house.
The one that were built last year was studio type house, coz we never really stays in the Philippines that long.
I really think it's GOOD when we read a lot and pass it on our children.
you're right, mitzh. it's nice to have a family of readers. I think it will be very beneficial for the boys talaga just the way it was for me growing up.
ako, i never lend my books except sa sister and brother ko. kasi i feel bad afterwards if i don't get them back. so yun mga books lang na i know are not so nice or i'm not too keen on, i lend them or give them away. hehehe... sama no?
