ETHAN

It seems like only yesterday when we brought Ethan home from the hospital. He was already very active as an infant, I should have known that he would be an active toddler as well. Ethan has taught me a lot. He has taught me to be less obsessive-compulsive when he makes a mess, to have grace under pressure when he has a tantrum in public, to be patient when something breaks or gets painted on around the house. Ethan has taught me to let go, to look beyond, to cherish the important things in life. He taught me to be affectionate anytime, anywhere. Just like his kuya, this boy has brought so much joy in Ruther's life and mine. Some relatives said that Ethan should have been a girl but I disagree. I love him just the way he is. And I love that he and Nikki are best buds (even if they do sometimes have brotherly fights as well). They complement each other in a way that only I could see. Many people don't understand Ethan. Many don't even want to try to understand his quirks, his uniqueness, his love and passion for life. They are quick to judge and that hurts me a lot because I don't want my boys to lose their amazing curiosity for life.

If I were to describe Ethan I would say he is full of life. Because that's what he is. He has brought so much life and to my family and honestly, a day without Ethan is a dull day. Especially now that he's starting to talk, oh boy! I'm sure life will be even more interesting in the next few months. =D

A few more days and Ethan will be 4. How time flies. The other day, Ethan sat on my lap and Nikki wanted to sit too. So Ethan sat on my right thigh and Nikki on my left. And Nikki said, "Mommy, you have 2 babies." I didn't correct him and say "you're both kids, not babies" because he's right. Nikki and Ethan will be my babies for always.
