Mommy and I went to Baclaran this morning. Since we will be heading for Alaminos tomorrow and be there until Monday, she has no other available time to go there. Her flight back to Zamboanga is on Wednesday. So, I decided to go with her today.
We left the house at 730am and took the jeepney (a Philippine public mode of transportation) to Baclaran. The fare cost us P12.50 each. When we got there, we headed for the church first and we said some prayers. Then we went to the parish office to pay for some masses. I paid for Ethan's birthday on Tuesday and my mom paid for a safe trip tomorrow. After that, on to the many shops and stalls that are located at the periphery of the church.
We shopped for 2 and a half hours. I got some house shirts for the boys, some undies, 2 blouses for me (at only P140 for BOTH! - approximately $3), a pair of slippers and a bag to bring along tomorrow during the trip. I picked a messeger type bag because this is the one I am most comfortable with. It's handy, it keeps my hands free and it's not easy for thieves to just reach in and take my wallet! I can't even tell you how many times I've been victimized whenever I use my backpacks. My mom bought some shorts for my dad, a bag for herself, some socks, and a blouse too.
I really miss shopping at Baclaran. Not only is it just a jeepney ride away from home but the clothes and things there are a lot cheaper than the ones at the mall. Besides, it feels really wonderful when you get great bargains. That, I think, is the best thing about shopping at Baclaran. =D
