We have finally arrived in Manila. It was a very eventful day. It was raining when we left Zamboanga and then quite sunny when we arrived in Manila. But that was not all...
It started when we were checking in our baggages. We were third in line and I had a LOT of things with me. I had 2 bags, 2 boxes and a stroller. My mom had a bag and a box. She was going to check-in her other stroller (smaller) but if she did we were going to have a 7-kilo excess so she decided to make it her handcarry. Anyway, we were already getting our boarding passes when a porter and a passenger (who was probably in his early 60s) got into a word fight! Oh yes, there were some colorful words in there. Apparently the old man had a lot of things to bring to Manila and was asking passengers if he could check-in the rest of his stuff with the rest of theirs if they could spare him some room. One obliged but this porter kept on mouthing words that the old man should wait in line like the rest. I don't know what else was said but all I know was that they started exchanging words. It was very uncomfortable for the rest of us standing there. A man with an ID stepped in the middle of the two and eventually, the porter went away grumbling and was still very much irritated at the old man. Of course, the old guy was bristling in anger as well. My mom and I hurriedly left the check-in counter. I hate being in those kind of situations. It's just so uncomfortable and you just have no idea how to react afterwards.
Anyway, on to my next "event". When we were in midair (we took off around 11am), I was terribly hungry. I was not able to eat breakfast this morning and all I took was a glass of milk. So I was hungry when we were at the airport but I thought, I could just eat the snacks the airline will be providing us to stave off hunger pangs. So imagine my disappointment when I found out that the airline was no longer giving free snacks to the passengers!! It was a good thing I was too sick (yup, I get motion sickness) to eat or I would have been very uncomfortable during the trip. I just ate some mint candy to lessen my dizziness. But surprise surprise! A few minutes before we were supposed to land, we experienced turbulence. Turbulence? Heck! A roller coaster ride was more like it!! There was one instance when we plunged about 6 feet and I felt my stomach roll. It was so sickening that everytime the plane lurched, you could hear the passengers groaning over the roller coaster plane ride. I hope never to experience that kind of thing again. Or if I want to, I would just hop into a roller coaster and get the ride of my life. But I definitely don't want to experience that again in a plane ride. Never.
Third event. The house is still a mess. Our room is habitable though and for that, I am thankful but I had to spend the whole afternoon searching for our things and clothes and the boys' stuff. I couldn't even find our slippers!! This is very trying for me because I really really REALLY want things to be as I left them. And this mess is driving me nuts!! But of course, it's too late for organization. I suppose now I'll have to go through all the boxes one by one and just make the boys' room as tidy as I possibly can.
