When I was younger, I was very shy. Having overprotective parents (God knows I love them!) did not help my growth much so I only learned to be fully independent when I went off to college. Slowly, slowly, I stepped out of my shell and learned to interact with different people and to speak my mind. But even if I was shy, I was personable. My empathic nature helped me relate to people and to open up to them. But still, I had a lot to learn growing up. When I became a mom, I tried to be more assertive so that my boys will learn from me and be less shy (already, I notice that Nikki has got my shy nature). I became less sensitive to criticism and have become more outgoing and friendly. I just want to be this positive person so that even if I just smile at a stranger I could brighten up his or her day for a wee bit.
Anyway, I am bestowing this award to Amy. Her HappyAmy site is just a wonderful place to visit. It truly is a happy place and I enjoy reading about her life and her family which includes a precious dog named June. Her writing is really witty and fun and I like that about her. So, this award is for you, Amy! Congratulations! =D

Thank you, Yette!! While reading the paragraph below the award I was wondering who you would pass it on to. I am flattered and glad that you chose me!
I do have to second Becky's decision to choose you...I have come to really appreciate your though-driven and often thought provoking posts as well as the times you just post pictures of your family. I think your blog gives a very accurate picture of you: kind, thoughtful, appreciative, ethical, warm... Your site is definitely a friendly place to be. :)
