IS IT WEDNESDAY ALREADY?

For the nth time, Nikki asked me today when we were flying back to Manila and joining his dad in Japan. Sigh. Poor baby. I suppose it's hard to explain to him the legal aspect of things. But I'm still glad that despite the language barrier, Nikki wants to go back because he had fun and because he misses his dad. I suppose their dad-son bonding is a whole lot different than ours. =D
.....

My dad loves us so much he buys me and the boys snacks everytime we go to the supermarket. Personally, I think he just misses having kids around the house again and are spoiling us plenty but hey, I'm not complaining. =D

Anyway, craving for some chips one afternoon and after checking the pantry, I found this...

It's a new flavor and I decided to give it a try. The usual flavors sold by this same brand are plain and barbeque (I think). In case you could not see it clearly, this new flavor says "nori". (Nori is edible seaweed that is made into thin, dark green sheets and are used to wrap sushi and onigiri and is also an add-on in ramen - very popular in Japan.) When I tried the chips, the nori flavor was not too distinct. It was just like regular potato chips (salty) except for the little chopped nori that added a bit of green on each chip. Since I knew what nori tasted like, I expected the chips to carry the flavor but I guess it's okay that it only has a subtle taste because too much of it might have an overpowering flavor and well, maybe not many Flipinos will like that because nori has a very different taste than what we are used to. But still, it was an enjoyable snack and made me miss Japan a bit. Oh yes, and in case you didn't notice, the pack of the potato chips is a bit small. That is how most chips are packed here in the Philippines. Most people don't usually buy the big bags unless there's plenty of people to eat the chips or there's a party going on. That's just how it is here and I think that's good if only to prevent overeating. =D
