EGGS

These eggs were laid by the chicken here at home. Nikki and Ethan were so fascinated by these eggs because they looked more elongated and less white (light brown) than the usual eggs we buy at the supermarket. At least they know that not all eggs are the same now. =D

Photo taken a few days ago.

I really want a country house so we can raise chickens and other animals.

Nice picture, Yette. I've heard that there are lots of different natural colors of eggs depending on the breeds of chicken. Martha Stewart did a thing about it a couple of years ago around Easter. A basket full of eggs that hadn't been dyed, but were all kinds of light pastel colors, all from different breeds of chickens.

It's neat that you are able to show your children those kinds of things. We currently live in the city, but I'm hoping to move out to a less populated area where we can have a little hobby farm. I'd love to raise chickens and have fresh eggs every day.

Oops sorry for the blunder. Not easy to cope having a child with ADD. I'm glad it's not your child but I'm not saying that I'm glad it's someone else. Anyway I hope you know what I mean. :)

Will visit when time permits.

I've to take the kids to the zoo or to rural areas just so they know what a chicken looks like. Ya well, that's the disadvantage of living in the city.

hello marla!

I think that would be nice. my husband and I would also like a quiet place when our kids have all grown up. city life is just too stressful.

take care!

hello becky!

we actually live in the city too but well, laws are not too strict about having chickens in a residential area. we actually only have 1 chicken and a rooster but they are owned by one of the workers renovating the house. but it is nice for the boys to experience this. it is such a great learning tool. =D

take care!
