I watched this movie the other day and I must say, I enjoyed it tremendously! I have always loved watching cooking-themed shows and movies and this one was no exception. It was funny and interesting and I loved the animation. The voice talents were also great and added a lot of character to the little critters in the movie. I just loved everything about the movie. As always, Pixar is there to bring families together through their movies. And I think Brad Bird rocks!! Am going to watch this movie again and I WILL definitely have this in the boys' DVD collection. =D

Ratatouille is a traditional French Provençal stewed vegetable dish which can be served as a meal on its own (accompanied by rice, potatoes, or simply French bread), or as a side dish. Tomatoes are a key ingredient, with onions, zucchini (courgettes), eggplant (aubergine), bell peppers, some herbes de Provence, and sometimes basil. All the ingredients are sautéed in olive oil.
The name of the dish appears to derive from the French touiller, "to stir", although the root of the first element "rata" is slang from the French Army meaning "chunky stew". (from Wikipedia)
The vegetables can vary according to the cook. They can be cooked together, or cooked separately and then combined and heated briefly together. Ratatouille can be served hot, cold or at room temperature, either as a side dish or as an appetizer with bread or crackers. (from Food Lover's Companion)
