NIKKI
Nikki is turning 5 next week. I can't believe how fast he's growing. I can still remember him when he was a baby - swaddled in a blanket with his round eyes, peering up at me and cooing and gurgling. Now, he's a talkative, inquisitive little boy and I am so proud of his development. He is independent for his age, loves his little brother (even if they do get into some fights now and then) and enjoys playing online games. He loves to watch his Daddy play "the Mario game" and asks for the Nintendo the moment Ruther comes home from work. He loves to do his lessons and read books. He really loves to learn. I am glad that although Nikki has not gone to school yet, he already knows so much for a kid his age. Yes, i am really proud of him.
For Nikki's birthday, I want to prepare a cake for him. No, i won't bake it from scratch. A toaster oven does not make an adequate baking appliance for such a cake and i simply decided to buy the ready-made spongecakes at the supermarket and cover it with chocolate icing. I already asked Mommy for her recipe and i sincerely hope it will come out okay. Decorative sprinkles and what-nots are also available at the grocery so i'll let Nikki help me decorate his cake. Of course, there will be presents. And of course there will be picture-taking. And although there will be no celebration, I am still very glad that we are having Nikki's 5th birthday here with Ruther.
I love you Nikki!
